actually FF9 and CH14 take 1024 bytes (can be comments too) to start bothering (resources/render) with what they see…

If flush is anything like echo or print and friends then you have to be careful with this on a busy site.

I noticed that if you have a visitor on a slow Internet connection or there was packet loss your PHP-script might temporarily block when using Apache.

Thus your server might need more resources if you have a busy site (similar to the Apache and HTTP keep-alive problem).

The comments engine removed my reference to the head tag.. it should have read:

” How do you think a browser would react if the ‘head’ of a page were chunked which contained a link to a .css file that was also chunked to simulate parallel streams of content and presentation logic? ”

- Which makes more sense.

If this would work, then the same could be done for all dependant content such as images and .js – that relate to the page regions being prioritized.

Or am I misunderstanding something in how pages are parsed in chunks?

Been trying to use your script to look at some asp.net produced pages and I’m getting weird results – try sticking in http://www.jobseve.com/ as an example.

Is asp.net really returning that many chunks, or is there an issue with the script?

Alternatively before I go and write my own script is there any chance you could share?
